St. Peter’s & St. Paul’s Churches

Nostalgic religious and cultural structures in Melaka

Centuries-old churches still hold a significant place in Malaysian culture, and two impressive structures sit grandly near the hotel. St. Peter’s Church, built in 1710, is considered the oldest functioning Roman Catholic Church in Malaysia, and it is located next door to Bayview Hotel Melaka. The ruins of St. Paul’s Church, dating to 1521, lay claim to being the oldest church structure in Southeast Asia. You can reach St. Paul’s from the hotel in about 5 minutes by car.
